Accountability
Claims about a record are easy to make and easy to check. Every federal vote, every federal campaign finance filing, and every bill action is published by an official body. This section explains how to read those records and what each one can and cannot settle.

Rules we follow in this section
- Every candidate in a race gets the same fields and the same source requirements.
- A stated position and an official voting record are shown separately.
- A procedural vote is explained as a procedural vote, not relabeled as a policy vote.
- We do not infer a position from party membership, and we do not infer identity from a name.
- We publish no numeric women-friendly score, and we endorse no candidates.
- We do not ingest individual campaign contributor records.
The full policy is in our editorial standards.
