Nothing on this site is behind a payment. We do not interrupt a voting guide with a payment request, we do not use a modal, and we do not show a countdown or a goal. If you never pay anything, you lose nothing here.

What support covers

Hosting, source review, accessibility testing, maintenance, and independent civic education. That is the whole list.

Who receives the money

Payments go to the independent publisher of this site through Stripe. Stripe names the receiving entity on its checkout page and on the receipt it emails you, so you can see who is being paid before you complete a payment and you have it in writing afterward.

We do not publish the name or the home region of the person who runs this site. Independent civic publishing about voting and reproductive policy attracts harassment, and a one person publication has no institution absorbing it. That is a safety decision about a private individual, not a decision about accountability. Everything that makes this site checkable stays public: the official source behind every voting instruction, the verification date on every time sensitive value, a corrections log, and a contact address that reaches a person.

What we disclose before asking

• The payment is not tax deductible. This publication is not a tax-exempt charity, and we will not describe a payment here as a charitable donation unless a verified status is established and stated on this page.
• The payment is not a political contribution. It does not reach a candidate, a campaign, a political party, a ballot committee, or a political action committee.
• The amount and the cadence are shown on the Stripe checkout page before you confirm.
• Recurring support is never preselected. A one time payment stays a one time payment.
• Cancellation and refunds work as described below.

How payment works

Checkout is hosted by Stripe on Stripe’s own pages. We never see or store card details. An email address is collected by Stripe only for a receipt and for subscription management, and we do not add anyone to a marketing list. Receipts are enabled. Recurring support is never preselected.

Cancelling a recurring payment

Every receipt from a recurring payment includes a link to Stripe’s billing portal, where you can cancel at any time without contacting us. Cancelling stops the next payment and nothing further is charged. You can also write to the contact address on this site and ask us to cancel it for you, and we will.

Refunds

Write to the contact address on this site and ask. We refund a payment on request within ninety days, without asking why. A recurring payment that was charged after you meant to cancel is refunded in full whenever you tell us, inside that window or outside it. We do not withhold a refund because voter information was already read, because everything here is free anyway.

What support does not buy

Support does not influence our factual coverage or editorial conclusions, does not buy access to any officeholder, and does not remove or soften a correction. If a supporter asks for coverage, the answer is no, and the request does not change what we publish.
