How this publication is funded

Current funding

WomanVoters is funded by its owner. There is no advertising on this site, no sponsored content, no affiliate links, and no paid placement of any kind. No candidate, campaign, party, ballot committee, or political action committee funds this publication or has ever been offered the opportunity to.

What support would pay for

If reader support is enabled, it covers ordinary operating costs: hosting and bandwidth, domain registration, the time spent verifying official sources on the published schedule, accessibility testing, and maintenance.

We will not claim that running this site is expensive. It is a static publication with almost no server work, and hosting a site like this one costs very little. Any claim we make about costs will be one we can document.

What support cannot buy

• No influence over which facts we publish or how we verify them.
• No influence over editorial conclusions.
• No access to any officeholder, campaign, or election office.
• No advertising, no sponsored placement, and no removal of a correction.
• No listing on a donor wall. We do not publish one.

The placement for AbortionProcedure.com

This site carries an editorial placement for AbortionProcedure.com, which covers abortion methods, safety, recovery, and access. It is not a paid placement, not an advertisement, and not an affiliate arrangement. No money moves in either direction for it, and nothing collected here funds that site or any other project.

The two sites are separately edited, keep separate accounting tags and separate payment products, and share no reader data. Neither personalizes content based on activity on the other.

Classification of payments

Any payment collected here is optional support for an independent publication. It is not a charitable donation unless a verified tax-exempt status is established and stated here, and it is not a political contribution. We use the wording support this project rather than donate for that reason.

Who receives the money

Payments go to the independent publisher of this site through Stripe. Stripe names the receiving entity on its checkout page and on the emailed receipt, so the recipient is visible in writing before and after any payment.

We do not publish the name or the home region of the person who runs this site. Independent civic publishing about voting and reproductive policy attracts harassment, and a one person publication has no institution absorbing it. That withholding covers a private individual and nothing else. It does not extend to money: the funding sources on this page are complete, and if that ever changes, this page changes with it before the money is accepted.

Refunds and recurring payments

The support page states the amount and cadence, how to cancel a recurring payment through Stripe’s billing portal, and how to request a refund. Refunds are given on request within ninety days, and a recurring payment charged after you meant to cancel is refunded in full whenever you tell us.
